“Stemming the Tide” – Women Engineers Report


On March 10, 2011, The Center for the Study of the Workplace published “Stemming the Tide: Why Women Leave Engineering”. Its authors, Dr. Romila Singh and Dr. Nadya Fouad, analyze the reasons that drive women engineers out of the field, even before entering the workplace.

    • I left major engineering company in 92, to start my own engineering company - in spite. It was a culture change from a supportive one, to one of being undermined that pushed me out. When the going got rough, women and minorities were pushed hard. Glad to see you dig into details enough to show we're not just leaving to have babies.
