Companies, lobbyists, activists, and politicians are currently debating legislation that would require organizations to report pay disparities between executives and other employees. Proponents believe it will help reign in exorbitant CEO pay, while opponents contend that, despite potentially embarrassing PR, companies will still pay employees based on the current market.
